Zagg is releasing some very good looking high-end headphones onto the market. They sent us a review unit of their ZaggAudio wooden headphones, and they are a symphony of sound in your ears. Perfect for chilling out to some tunes while reading a good book on your Mini.

A Symphony of sound in your ears

Zagg’s new ZR-LE On-Ear Deluxe Wood Headphones delivers the ultimate sound punch with an attractive wood overlay, making for a streamlined organic aesthetic. Headphones rarely cross from the world of celebrity names and plastic bling into the style we see here, one of a smooth, natural, earthy incorporate. The wooden housing is hand made and comes in either the sleek dark ebony pictured above or the light and playful bamboo. The wood is used to increase the resonance range and act like a concert hall in your ears. After all, what conveys true acoustic better than the wood of a guitar?

Oh So Comfy!

What really stands out with these headphones is the comfort. Putting these on is like wrapping your ears in a pillow of clouds. Superbly cushioned and soft, the headband is extremely comfortable and adjusts on both sides. The material appears to be a breathable supple faux leather, that carries onto the cushioned on-ear phones. These swing off of horizontal hinges for a customized fit that feels very natural and not overly tight like many others do, but surely enough because the passive noise isolation works fantastically. The included cable is 48″ and plugs in on both the right and left side of the phones, and even includes a nice touch of wood trim on said plugs.

Sounds Like A Mini Concert Hall

Sound-wise, these headphones offer deep booming lows interspersed with twinkling clean highs and just right mid-ranges, from the 50mm dynamic Neodymium drivers. The wood really does add to the resonance and makes the music sound and feel that much warmer and richer. Sensitivity sits at 107db, while impedance is 32 Ohms and frequency response is 20Hz-20KHz. Distortion rate is less than 1% and channel balance is less than 3 dB. Overall, these phones at $129.99 offer a delightful package of aesthetic and reliability. Plus how many other people do you know that can shine their headphones with Old English? Check out the Zagg ZR-LE Deluxe Wooden Headphones for yourself!
